Langleys
The family run business established in 1987 you can rely upon
Extensions.Tiled roofed conservatories and summer rooms.Traditional conservatories in both UPVc and timber.Replacement UPVc and timber doors and windows.
We are very excited to promote a growing part of our business, namely, improving the energy efficiency of older conservatories.  This we do by simply changing the glass in the frames and roof for modern energy efficient glass and in some cases, we can utilise the existing base and frames , replacing the translucent roof altogether, with a solid tiled roof.
Maybe you already own a conservatory that you find too hot in the summer and too cold in the winter.
If this is the case we can offer two effective solutions:
1.  Installing energy efficient sealed units and roof glazing
Great improvements have been made un the manufactur of sealed units and roof glazing over the past 10 years.  If your conservatory was built before this, or, if when it was built the specifications were minimal, then there is a very real possibility that you could benefit from todays new glazing products.
As an example a standard 28mm sealed unit loses approx. 2.8KW/m2/hour, todays 28mm sealed unit, with warm edge spacer bar, argon filled, utilising advanced low emissivity glass, has a heat loss figure of approx. 1.4KW/m2/hour that means half the current heat loss!
2.  Replacing the existing roof with a tiled roof
If you have a well constructed, but older, less efficient conservatory, in many cases we are able to use the existing footings and floor slab (subject to building control inspection and approval) and much of the brick work.  We then design a new highly glazed extension around these compnents, taking into account the necessary calculations for the extra loads involved
Every thing we do is then subject to building control approval, but dont worry, we handle all of this side of the project for you.  We also check to see if planning is required and in the few cases where it is, we take care of this, as at Langleys we offer a full 'in house' planning and building control service.
